Today we headed North of Bangkok by train, we are spending the next 2 days at the former ancient capital of Siam, named Ayatthaya. 400 years ago it had a population of over a million people, until it was invaded, burnt an looted by the Burmese invaders that left the city in ruins. The then King of Siam moved to the site of present day Bangkok, to form a new capital for the Kingdom. The ruins of this former great city were very impressive.
